6 month check up

Ella had her 6 month check up yesterday. She did great and her pediatrician thinks she is growing and developing just like she should. One thing is for certain, she is definitely doing fine in the GROWING department - she weighed in at 17 lbs 1 oz (83rd %ile) and was 26 inches long (70th %ile.) I can't remember the measurement of her head but it was in the 93rd %ile. (I think she gets her big head from her Dad, haha.) She got 3 shots, which she was most definitely NOT happy about but otherwise did really well. She really enjoyed ripping the paper on the examination table to pieces. Adorable, but messy.

Some new likes/dislikes for Ella @ 6 months:

Likes:
-baths: these continue to be a favorite. In fact, she has recently learned how to splash which has made baths infinitely more fun for her and infinitely more messy for us :)
-eating: Ella loves to eat - probably not surprising given her recent growth stats! The only foods we have found she really doesn't like are peas (can't blame her for this one) and avocados
-sippy cups: We have started letting Ella have some water and occasionally juice from a sippy cup. Mostly, she just likes banging the cup on the table but she is slowly learning how to drink out of it and she loves playing with it.
-entertainer/johnny jump up: Now that Ella has figured out the whole jumping thing she is nonstop in these things. And, she loves playing with all the toys in her entertainer.
-sleep: finally!! We are finally sleeping through the night. This is probably Mom and Dad's biggest "like" on the list!
-jogging stroller: Ella loves going for jogs in her jogging stroller. In fact, she is an excellent trainer b/c she likes to go FAST.
-Mr. Monkey/Mr. Frog paci: still a fave.

Dislikes:
Mostly, Ella's dislikes consist of not doing/having any one of the above "likes." For example, Ella really hates getting out of the bath. She also hates when one of her toys gets lost - like when she throws it on the ground. And, she hates being tired. But really, she is a pretty happy baby these days, for which we are very grateful.
