The Carnes Crew: Ella is Two!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet baby girl! I cannot believe Ella turned 2 today!! She had a 2 year old check up and was a very brave girl for her 2 shots. Mom was not a big fan. As it turns out, Ella boo did have a small ear infection which might explain some of her crankiness for the past couple of days but otherwise got a clean bill of health. Her "stats" were as follows:

Height: 34.5 inches (75th %ile)
Weight: 28 lbs (75%ile)
Head: 90th %ile (I can't remember the actual measurement. I know, Bad Mom.)

So, Ella has slimmed up a bit but does still have a big ol' noggin :) Her doctor says she is on track to be about 5'6" if she stays steady on her growth track. Just like her Mama.

Things Ella is loving @ 2 years old...
-BREAKFAST - seriously, this kid eats the equivalent of 3 or 4 breakfasts a day. Yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, pancakes...bring it on!!
-Running
-Dancing (actually, as a side note, Ella loves when we sing "Go, Ella, Go Ella while she dances between us Soul Train style. Today, during her doctor visit she made me sing this, then she sang Go, Mommy and Go, Doctor. And, made the doctor dance for her. Which he did. Pretty impressive :)
-Bananas (and really any fruit)
-Singing songs (Ella can now sing I'm a Little Teapot, Old MacDonald, Baa Baa Black Sheep and a few she's made up on her own including one about a baby Christmas tree that I really can't understand the words to.)
-Talking NONSTOP
-Animals of all kinds but especially cows, horses and zebras
-Airplanes, trucks, tractors and buses - you know, normal girl stuff
-Her beauty sleep

Things Ella dislikes @ 2 years old
-Green beans
-Not getting exactly what she wants, exactly when she wants it (Hello, Terrible Twos)
-Going to the potty (this was going really well for about one week and has since seriously derailed. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.)
-Sitting still for any length of time
-When Mom or Dad sing the wrong song at bedtime. Very serious bedtime infraction. Usually results in Ella telling us "No, Mam Mommy" or "No, Sir Daddy" with very stern look on her face. We're working on that.

Other things Ella is doing @ 2:
- Talking up a storm. Seriously, nonstop. There is no quiet time in our house :)
- Knows her colors. Specifically, red, blue, green, purple, pink, yellow, white, black, brown and peach. That's right peach.
- Knows circle, triangle, square, heart and star shapes. And, she can draw a circle. Genius, baby.
- Is trying to learn to count. She can hold up two fingers and say "2" if you ask her how old she is. And occasionally count "1,2,3" but more often will say "2,4,6" if you ask her to count. Not sure where she got that from :)
- And, Ella has attitude for days. I think she probably got that from Jason :)
