I had a few days off of work last week and Jason and I decided we couldn't let the summer end without just one more trip to the beach. So, we found a last minute deal, packed up and headed down. Unfortunately, our car DVD player broke en route which made the actual traveling a little difficult but once we finally got there a good time was had by all!!
It was a little rainy the first day so we had fun playing under the house with the hose and looking out at the canal for fish.
Ella playing with the "wawa."
Helping wash off her toys :)
Looking for the fishes that go "swimmy swimmy swim."
" 'mon fissy Ella" (translation: Come on fishy. And, Ella thinks her name is actually punctuation. She uses it pretty liberally before during and after sentences.)
We also used this day to head over to Broadway at the Beach to take in the Ripleys aquarium. Along with every single person in Myrtle Beach. Ella had a good time but it was a bit trying for the parents with the ridiculous crowds, crazy expensive ticket prices and less than stellar exhibits.
Ella posing for a photo op.
"Cheese!"
Ella is mesmerized by fish.
Going through the fish/shark tunnel.
Ella checking out the sharks. Note the death grip she has on Jason. She was pretty much ok with the sharks just as long as they didn't swim over top of us. Not a big fan of that.
Having a little snack while waiting for the "mermaid show." This consisted of a lady in a mermaid costume swimming in circles for about 15 minutes. Ella paid zero attention. And, we waited 30 minutes for the show with about 1,000 people most of whom were tired/hungry/angry toddlers. And, now you know why this is the only picture we took.
Mommy and Ella in the clam shell. To get in here Ella and I had to climb through this crazy small tunnel that was really almost to small for Ella much less me. And then wait in line to stand up in this thing. I still have a crick in my neck. Ah, the things we do for photo ops of the kiddos :)
And then it was beach time!! Ella really loved the beach. She had a great time chasing the birds, splashing in the tide pools and digging up the sand. She even went in the ocean with Jason and I and wasn't scared a bit! Ella also made friends with our beach neighbors who had a radio or a "dance" as Ella calls it. She was totally in to entertaining them with her killer dance moves. And, I think after the 2 or 3 cases of beer they had downed by noon they found it pretty entertaining as well :)
Having fun at the beach :)
Let's go build a sand castle!
Playing in the tide pools.
Splashing around :)
Very serious business :)
Playing in the waves with Daddy. Sorry for the blurry picture my camera lens kept fogging up.
******WARNING: Naked baby pictures ahead :)******
Ella had a TON of sand in her little baby toddler rolls when we got back from the beach so we just rednecked it up and bathed her outside. Ella thought this was the best thing EVER.
Check out those tan lines :)
And now it's back to work for me. But, Ella has pretty much continued her vacation getting to spend some QT with Aunt Amanda, a spend the night with Nana and Pawpaw and with Granna and Papa. Now that is one lucky baby!!
